Dr. Hudec is not only rude and inconsiderate regarding problems after surgery (to the point of denying their existence) but he’s made surgical mistakes on ALL of my family members he has operated on, and prides himself on his ‘speed’ of operation (which comes at a huge cost to patients) and I believe it’s because, that way, he can bill more operations in any given time period. My grandparents both had surgeries with him, all of which needed immediate correction. One needed a simple everyday type of operation, and he made a HUGE mistake that nearly resulted in death which required emergency correction and removal of dead bowel. This correction was performed by Hudec who left a large hernia that was later corrected by a competent surgeon. The other grandparent had an operation with Hudec because their surgery was urgent and he was the only available one. He installed a permanent medical port entirely incorrectly (to the extent it couldn’t and thus didn’t work) and we demanded a different surgeon—literally anyone but him, and the other surgeon then fixed the problem Hudec created and was able to explain exactly what went wrong in the first surgery, along with his shock that it had been left that day. Even acquaintances have mentioned to us, unprompted, “never let Hudec operate on you!” And that is my exact advice to everyone reading this. I wouldn’t let him operate on my dog, much less myself or any more of my family. I’ve passed that advice on to SO many people.
